What I did not do was download a new driver from the manufacturers website. When I got to test the driver and install, I get an error saying I am missing a configuration file. I updated the drivers using Device Manager and Windows determined that both driver software's were up to date. I checked and the RPC service is running and on automatic. But this time I got a screen stating that The Remote Procedure Call Failed. I did try pressing Windows key + R, and typing ms-settings:windowsupdate.Īt that point the Update and Recovery page opened and immediately closed as well. As I mentioned before I cannot update windows because the Update and Recovery page crashes as soon as it opens. As for the second link, the first thing I am told to do is update windows. I get the same message "one or more audio service isn't running". The first link just takes me to the same troubleshooter that I get when I right click on the muted speaker icon. I would certainly appreciate any and all advice on how to fix this. I have no idea if that could be related or not. Also, windows won't let me open pictures.

Was asked what version of Windows 10 I was running and it is 1607 14393.693, but when I went to go to the Update and Settings tab for Windows, it opens and immediately shuts itself. I cannot find Windows Audio to see if it is running or not. Audiorsv has a failed to read error 193, and CDPUserSvc_4cef3 also fails to run and has an error code of 15100. It might be worth mentioning that Windows Audio End Point Builder is running.
I rolled back the drivers to previous versions and then restarted the computer. I uninstalled all the sound drivers and then restarted the computer. Here are the steps that I was told to go through today. When I click on it, it runs a troubleshooting cycle and tells me "one or more audio service isn't running". The speaker icon in the right hand corner has a red x on it like it is muted. So I have spent the better part of the day chatting with Microsoft support and wasn't able to find a solution to my problem.
